At Josh.ai, we love the idea of voice control for the home. One of the most interesting applications to control is music. Imagine playing music anywhere in your house from any service with control right from your phone. That’s what Sonos makes possible. Today there’s an ever growing list of wireless speakers. Here are 7 reasons why Sonos is among our favorites:
1. It’s Easy to Use
With an easy installation process and intuitive controls, Sonos won’t leave you frustrated. I’ve seen teenagers and grandparents alike using Sonos with ease. It’s amazing how complicated these products can be, but Sonos remains simple and straight forward which is incredibly important.

2. Control With Your Device
One the my favorite things about Sonos is getting access easily from my computer or phone. When hosting a dinner party, I often use my phone to change music throughout the night, adjust the volume, activate and de-activate rooms. At work I like to control Sonos from my computer. Sonos is iOS and Android friendly. I love the ease of control from any of my devices as I move around.
3. Beautiful Design
Sonos has one of the best designs in the industry. Keeping things simple, their speakers come in black or white, and they fit into almost any aesthetic. Using high quality materials and a compact design, these products are surprisingly well built and equally beautiful.
4. Great Sound
Read any review of Sonos’ speakers and you’ll see strong comments about the sound quality. If you’re a true audiophile, you may want to go a little more high end, but for the average consumer the sound these little guys pack is more than enough to delight.
5. Tons of Services
Sonos works by wirelessly streaming music from various services. You can play off Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and more than a dozen other services. As a result, you literally have endless possibilities without worrying about owning and storing the music directly.
6. A Variety of Options
Sonos speakers start with the $199 PLAY:1, go up to the $299 PLAY:3, and max out at the $499 PLAY:5. If you want to use your own speakers, the Sonos CONNECT ($349) and CONNECT:AMP ($499) give you access to streaming music services right on your own equipment. Lastly there’s the SUB ($699) which adds a “soul-shaking bass” as a subwoofer. These options give you easy access to get the best music hooked up in your home.
7. Works with Josh
Last but not least, one thing we love about Sonos is it works well with Josh. The combination gives you voice control over the music in your home. More-so, Josh makes it possible to control music remotely, not just when you’re at home. As a result, saying something like “play today’s hits” or “play Katy Perry on Spotify” with Josh will make your home come alive.
