What do you do at Josh? Territory Sales Manager — West
Where are you from originally? The Mile High City, Denver, CO.
Which office do you work in? I’ll be working remotely from Stockton, CA when I’m not traveling around the western US.
What do you love about the smart home? The technology we apply to smart homes is all about improving experiences and saving time. What I really love is seeing the technology change the lives for those that are disabled.
What are you most excited about over the next few years? We’re only scratching the surface in terms of applying technology to the home. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are going to have profound impacts. I’m hopeful that we will see systems that begin to proactively anticipate how the environments will be used and adjust without the need for any user input.

What do you do for fun? In terms of outdoor activities, nothing makes me happier than a day on the slopes. When I’m not doing that or spending time with my kids, I enjoy woodworking and home improvement projects. There’s just something about creating something yourself.
If you could go anywhere, where would it be? Prior to the Covid-19 situation we had scheduled a trip to Thailand and Cambodia. When things get back to normal I’m looking forward to making that happen.
Favorite restaurant in the world? My favorite spot is a small sandwich shop in Florence, Italy called Osteria All’antico Vinaio. It’s only takeout, which allows you to choose anywhere in Florence to enjoy the incredible sandwiches.
Favorite IoT / smart home product? Can I say Josh.ai? If not, it has to be distributed music. Few things can invoke more emotion than music.
What is your favorite feature of Josh? There are so many incredible features that it is hard to choose just one. That being said, VoiceCast gives you the feeling that the building is alive, intelligent, and ready to serve you.
Favorite books / reading material / websites? I’m a total geek at heart. When it comes to home technology I’m compelled to understand how the individual pieces can be put together to create something much greater than the sum of all the parts. As a result I devour technology blogs and sites.
