What do you do at Josh? Aside from my intern duties, my current projects here at Josh revolves around design and product development, as well as some front-end web development.
Where are you from originally? I was born in D.C. but grew up in Fairfax, Virginia.
Which office do you work in? The Santa Monica office.
What do you love about the smart home? I love the idea of my house being able to grow with me. All it takes is a super quick software update every now and then and just like that my house becomes a little bit smarter.
What are you most excited about over the next few years? I’m looking forward to graduation. It’s going to be a bittersweet moment for me walking across the stage but I’m ready for what life has in store for me.
iPhone or Android? Android ... and no one can convince me otherwise.
What do you do for fun? I love playing basketball, traveling and chilling with friends. Whenever I get the chance though I try to check something off my bucket list — skydiving, bungee jumping, hot air ballooning, etc.
If you could go anywhere, where would it be? Hawaii. Sunny weather …clear blue water ... delicious seafood ... I mean what else can you ask for? I’m from the east coast which means that Hawaii is an insanely long flight away. Now that I’m living in LA, there’s really no reason not to go anymore.
Favorite restaurant in the entire world? Baekjeong (KBBQ) in LA. No question. It’s pricey but in my opinion it’s totally worth it. I’m really salivating at the thought of their food. It’s that good. What separates this place from other places is that you’re also paying for an experience. The ambiance of this place is on point. It’s so inviting and relaxing, and you can literally feel the joy in the room.
Favorite IoT / smart home product? Say I’m bias or whatever but my favorite smart home product has to be the Josh Micro. Even at its current stage, its capable of understanding a number of commands at once AND executing a number of actions with a single command. Who knows what Josh will be able to do 5 years time from now.
What is your favorite feature of Josh? I’m a fan of the minimalist look of the Josh Micro. Its sleek design allows it to naturally fit into the look of any home. Not to mention that it’s incredibly compact for how powerful it is.
Favorite books / reading material / websites? My favorite website has to be Yelp! I just love eating and talking about food. It’s just that simple.
