Josh.ai + AVA Cinema Remote: Redefining Handheld Control
By leveraging Cinema Remote’s three-dimensional Dynamic Keypad across its adaptive video, music, lighting, shading, and climate device controllers, Josh.ai has redefined the universal remote control’s place in the smart home. Dedicated lighting and shade controllers put more power than ever before in the palm of a client’s hand.
Cinema Remote also empowers clients with a dedicated “Speak to Josh” microphone icon to access all of their connected devices across their whole home. Clients giving voice commands through Cinema Remote will experience the same contextual awareness that they enjoy with their Josh.ai microphones. Josh Micro & Nano: Effortless, Location-Aware Voice Control
Josh Micro equips clients with unlimited flexibility since it can be elegantly mounted on the wall or positioned on a tabletop to ensure every user is heard. For the architecture, design, and professional installation communities, Josh Nano was purposefully built to blend into its surroundings.
Deep integration with best-in-class lighting and shading partners enables a nearby Josh Micro or Nano to understand what types of devices are controllable, where they are located, what they are named, and their current state. This contextual knowledge of the home, coupled with features like location-awareness and memory in the software provides a more natural experience that eliminates the need for users to memorize what to say in order to interact with their surroundings.
Josh.ai remembers what device you last activated in order to reduce redundant language and commands. By utilizing anaphora, Josh.ai enables users to give a command like, “Ok Josh, dim the lights in the Living Room” and follow it up with “Ok Josh, raise them 25%” to adjust the Living Room’s lights.
Anaphora is also built into the touch capacitive surfaces of Josh Micro and Josh Nano, providing intuitive manual control for devices that were previously spoken to for approximately 30 seconds after a command is given to lighting or shades before reverting to its default setting.
Modern Control Adds Linear Lighting
With the growing popularity of linear solutions, Josh.ai is proud to add support for Lutron’s Lumaris tape lighting. Purpose-built as part of Lutron’s RadioRA 3 and HomeWorks systems, color-tunable tape lights have burst onto the scene with their design-centric aesthetic.
