Welcome to the Josh App 5.0 walkthrough, where we’ll explore everything that’s capable with Josh.ai’s home intelligence interface. Designed to elevate luxury living experiences, the Josh App seamlessly connects all of a smart home’s devices with one elegant and intuitive interface. Clients are empowered to access their properties through touch, text, or voice commands.
In addition to highlighting the Josh App’s personalization features, we’ll take a sneak peak at its upcoming JoshGPT capabilities that will further enhance the client experience.
Home Screen
The home screen, also known as the Interactive Home Page, is the primary interface that greets you upon launching the Josh App. It provides quick access to the essential functions of your smart home, such as active devices, timers, and recent activity.
Additionally, the text and microphone buttons are conveniently located at the bottom of the screen. With your home’s name prominently displayed at the top of the page, and the ability to switch between properties for remote access, the home screen provides a gateway for seamless control over your connected environments.
Voice Control
The Josh App provides efficient options for control and interaction using both, text and voice commands. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or on the go, you can easily activate your home’s devices with a simple voice command. Press the blue microphone button and start speaking to Josh!
The app’s customizable voice control feature can be turned on or off depending on your preference. For instance, if you’re hosting guests and want to limit their access to your home devices, you can lock down the app’s voice control feature using the app settings page. This creates a more restricted version of the app, making it ideal for a wall-mounted iPad in a guest area.
Devices
The Josh App makes it easy to organize and control all of your connected devices. Easily group adjustments to all devices within a particular category or make finite changes to a room’s singular device.
For instance, you can use the “Open” button located at the top right of the shades device page to open all the shades in your home. On the other hand, if you only want to open the living room shades, you can select the “Open” button on the living room tile within the shades device page. This flexibility for local and global control provides you with the freedom to enjoy a truly custom smart home experience.
Areas
In the areas section of the Josh App, you can conveniently control all the devices that are assigned to a room or a broader living space. When you enter a room or area’s view, sliders at the top of the page allow for precise lighting and shading adjustments. You can also granularly access devices applicable to each area via individual tiles.
Scenes
The scenes section of the Josh App enables you to personalize your smart home by creating custom device activations that can be triggered in a variety of ways. Conditional triggers like the changing of a device state, weather, time, voice, and more options are available to customize scene automations. Josh makes it easy and fun for you to program your own magical scene experiences.
Dashboards
The Josh App allows you to design an infinite number of dashboards based on users, areas, or any other use-case. Dashboards also add a nice layer of customization to your system, allowing you to display the most important devices, rooms, or scenes right on the home page! Leveraging a dashboard will offer quicker access to the features you use on a daily basis, while giving the home page a personalized look.
Profile Settings
The profile settings view offers administration privileges and the ability to switch to any of your other properties to remotely check-in. You can adjust your current system’s aesthetics for a tailored look and feel. If needed, ask for support from our team and access a wealth of tips to make the most of your Josh experience.
JoshGPT (Beta Features)
While the extent of its features are still in development, one addition with JoshGPT will be adding a music information button at the bottom right of the media player. This button will provide information about the currently active song, including background on the artist and album.
JoshGPT will also allow you to ask a question about anything you might be curious about, expanding the value of AI-on-the-go in the Josh App. You will be able to ask questions about cooking, art, entertainment, travel, locale, history, and much more!
