What do you do at Josh? Level 1 Technical Support
Where are you from originally? I grew up in Seattle, Washington.
Which office do you work in? I work from home in Redmond, Washington, which is just outside of Seattle.
What do you love about the smart home? Efficiency and reduction of brain drain so that folks can focus on what truly matters to them.
What are you most excited about over the next few years? The application of automation to ecology. There’s so much space where AI can assist in the things we really care about.
iPhone or Android? Android.
What do you do for fun? I enjoy traditional (usually watercoloring) and digital art creation, and I like photographing plants while hiking with my dog. I’d love to explore macro photography one day. I also love playing video games and spend perhaps too much time there, haha.
If you could go anywhere, where would it be? There’s a few places on the planet with really deep darkness where the stars are more visible, I’d love to visit and camp for a night or two just to see the sky like that. I’d also like to see the aurora borealis one day.
Favorite restaurant in the world? There’s a place in Seattle called Broadfork (used to be Chaco Canyon) that has amazing food. There’s also a place in Redmond called Woodblock that has great drinks.
Favorite IoT / smart home product? It’s pretty basic, but I love my Samsung Smart TV & soundbar — a huge upgrade in picture and sound quality from my previous system.
What is your favorite feature of Josh? It’s learning capability, and accessible customization that provides its users a seamless experience in your smart home.
Favorite books / reading material / websites? I really enjoy most of what I’ve read from Jeff VanderMeer (Area X: the Southern Reach Trilogy) and Kim Stanley-Robinson (Aurora, 2312).
