What do you do at Josh? I build Android applications for Josh, including those for phones, tablets, and remote controls.
Where are you from originally? I’m originally from Coldwater, Ohio.
Which office do you work in? I work in the Denver, Colorado office.
What do you love about the smart home? I love smart home systems because they allow your home to be an extension of yourself. You can tell a lot about a person by their home. A smart home system enables you to be creative with your space, personalizing your living area with your favorite music, lighting, and technologies.
What are you most excited about over the next few years? I’m excited to bring the Josh.ai platform to the Android market and to provide our customers with new ways to experience the app via Tablets and the Ava remote.
iPhone or Android? It’s complicated. I love my iPhone but also have a lot of history building Android apps.
What do you do for fun? My favorite activities are weekend snowboarding trips in the winter and playing golf in the summer.
If you could go anywhere, where would it be? New Zealand is at the top of my list, but Australia and Japan are close second.
Favorite restaurant in the world? Currently, I’m obsessed with Indian food, and my favorite place is Little India in Denver.
Favorite IoT/smart home product? Honestly, I’m a huge fan of connected window shades and plan on them being the first devices I connect to my Josh system. I can’t wait to set them up to automatically open in the mornings and close at night.
What is your favorite feature of Josh? I think Josh’s scenes feature really ties all your technology together and provides a magical experience for the user in a single feature.
Favorite books/reading material/websites? I really love Udemy and Udacity because they offer classes on a wide range of subjects, from Physics to Martial Arts, with top-notch instructors from around the world.
