Josh.ai in the Spotlight at Lightapalooza 2023
Here at Josh.ai, our team is always looking at how our technology can offer an impactful solution throughout connected living spaces. With that mission in mind, attending Lightapalooza last week was a great opportunity to showcase how Josh is revolutionizing lighting control with our intuitive app, contextual natural language processing, and via home intelligence automations. Co-exhibiting with our friends at Somfy also highlighted how lighting control is not just about your fixtures or switches, but also includes accessibility to daylight with the right shading solutions.
With over 400 Custom Integrators in attendance, Lightapalooza proved to be an exceptional show. While not a traditional lighting provider, Josh had a prominent presence at the event exhibiting on the show floor and as a part of Lutron’s Tiny Home experience. Our team also participated in numerous pre and post-show events, amplifying our presence throughout the week.

Josh Booth
The Josh booth, co-sponsored with Somfy, was a resounding success thanks to a live demo of a Tahoma powered shade that was voice-controlled with Josh Micro. Attendees experienced the power of simple and secure voice control in action while being able to get a closer look at the full suite of Josh products. Including the Josh App, which serves as a powerful tool to consolidate and customize lighting experiences throughout the smart home.
Lutron’s Tiny Home
In preparation for the show, the Josh team worked with Jesse Silva from The PAVE to incorporate Josh Nano into Lutron’s Tiny Home Demo. In collaboration with Cavco, a Phoenix-based builder, the companies showcased a premium experience in the 400-square-foot residence.
The home included 13 Lutron Palladiom wire-free shades, which have a minimal profile and refined aesthetic; five Palladiom keypads, which feature an intuitive design with backlit buttons and engraved text for a sleek, minimalist look; and a variety of Ketra intelligent lighting solutions, including S30 lamps, an S30 track, A20 lamps, and Lightbar Slim under cabinet lighting.
The home gave visitors the opportunity to experience how Josh can access all of the unique features of Ketra lighting, including Natural Show, which shows the lights’ color temperature shifting over the course of the day to match sunlight, plus other features like vibrancy, high-def palette, .1 percent dimming range, and warm dim features.
ByDesign Rep Event
Josh’s Southern California reps, ByDesign, threw an awesome pre-show dealer party at TopGolf to kick off the week. The evening was a huge hit and set the tone for an amazing week of networking. It was the perfect opportunity for everyone to have meaningful conversations that will drive all of our businesses forward. By the time the show started, dealers were already talking about how to incorporate Josh into their lighting designs thanks to this engaging event.
Lightapalooza 2023 was an amazing experience for the Josh team. It was a thrilling week showcasing our products while demonstrating how seamlessly Josh provides control for custom lighting and shading solutions. The positive feedback we received from attendees only further reinforces our commitment to creating simple, private, and magical user experiences in the smart home!
