Josh.ai Goes Beyond Voice — New Integrations, Automations, & Machine Learning
Partner demand increase as Josh doubles integrator network in 2018 with coverage in all major US markets and gears up for the third round of Micro production
SAN DIEGO — August 30, 2018 — Josh.ai, a leader in advanced voice technology for the home, is announcing new functionality at CEDIA that introduces learning and automation for users to have a more intuitive smart home experience. Josh pioneered early voice control for home automation allowing users to naturally adjust their environment. Introducing a new app version designed around artificial intelligence, Josh is optimized to make proactive recommendations for enhanced safety and security, energy management, and entertainment control. This is in addition to a dynamic distributed AV release that introduces an entirely new way to route audio and video in the home with simple voice commands.

Announcing the Release of Josh 3.0 App
The newly designed Josh app is the first home control interface that will actively utilize machine learning based off of user-specific living patterns. A contextual dashboard offers suggestions based on the time of day, usage data, and general recommendations. The updated interface has day and night color schemes as well as simpler navigation, which requires a maximum of two taps to access any action. The new design also includes a variety of integrator features to easily edit and troubleshoot client homes remotely.
First Voice Platform to Support AV Distribution
Josh becomes the first voice platform to natively support audio and video distributed matrix switchers from industry leading manufacturers. Transitioning beyond inflexible scene-based voice commands, Josh now adds the ability to route audio and video to a desired room while preserving our proprietary natural language processing. Users can now enjoy a more powerful experience with currently supported brands such as Onkyo, Integra, Pioneer, Sonos, Heos and Sony. In addition to new integrations with Atlona, Barco, and Crestron’s DM and SWAMP.
Investing in Partner Integrations
Josh continues to add to their control ecosystem, adding Savant scene integration to complement the already supported Control4 and Crestron systems. Josh is also expanding upon their Crestron partnership to include the Pyng platform, which will streamline the programming process for thermostats, shades, lights and scenes. Josh and Lutron compatibility has been improved upon with their recent security update. Josh currently supports Caseta Pro, RA2 Select, Radio RA2, and Homeworks QS.
