The first way that Josh can help you take care of your animals is through our camera integration. Josh currently can support a variety of cameras that can be found on our website. Using cameras may seem simple, but Josh’s integration allows you to check on them even on the go. You can set the cameras up anywhere and view them all right from the IOS app.
Creature Comfort
Animals are sensitive to their environment just like humans are. Just because we are out of the house all day, does not mean our animals are. One common mistake people make is that they do not take into consideration the temperature of their home. In many cases, our houses can heat up drastically during the day, especially in the summer. This can make our pets very uncomfortable. Using Josh to control your HVAC system using a supported thermostat makes it easy for you to adjust the temperature in your house from anywhere.
The Pavlov Effect
The last way Josh can help is with training a new animal in the house or a young pet. Using Josh’s new announcement feature combined with scenes, we can actually use Josh to talk to, and train, our pets. Additionally, if we routinely feed our pets at certain times, we can use Josh to trigger a noise or announcement feature so that every time the noise goes off our pet will know it is time to eat. This is also a good reminder for us to make sure we feed our pets on time as well.
Advanced note: Some companies have developed smart food dispensers for animals. If these plug into a wall and can be controlled, you might even be able to connect them to your Crestron or Control4 system. If you do this and your system can control it, you can connect this with Josh so that the noise sounds and food gets dispensed to your pet without you even being there!
